Resources for ESL (English as a Second Language) Students: Home

Resources such as books, e-books, books on CD, videos, and websites that will help ESL students learn American English.

This guide has been created for the students in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Sacred Heart University. The purpose of these resources is to allow you to familiarize yourself with the pronunciation and understanding of the American language. This is NOT a comprehensive listing of all ESL resources available. Rather it is a selective listing meant to be an introduction to some of the sources available through the Ryan-Matura Library and some websites.

This guide is broken down into the categories of books, dictionaries, websites, and newspapers.  Click on one of the tabs along the top to access those sources.  For further help locating sources available through Ryan-Matura Library, click on the guide "Searching the Library Catalog" by Bonnie Figgatt.
